Theodore A. Bratz Jr., 82, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
Teddy was born on April 7, 1942, to Luella Bratz (nee Running) and Theodore A. Bratz Sr. in Summit, NJ. After graduating from Summit High School in Summit, NJ, Teddy was drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country in Viet Nam from 1964 – 1965. Upon his return from service, he found a job at Ciba Geigy in Summit, NJ where he met his wife, Marilyn Bratz (nee Brumell).
Teddy and Marilyn married on January 27, 1968, in Morristown, NJ, and began their married life in New Providence, NJ. They were blessed with and survived by three daughters, Tracey Ramee (Paul), Tami Batten (Craig), and Barbie Niehoff (Greg), and seven grandchildren, Hunter, Owen, and Oliver Ramee, Devan and Rylee Batten, and Ryder and Grayson Niehoff.
He obtained his bachelors degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University before beginning a successful career in the printing business, starting his own company, Tab Control, Inc. in 1979. He proudly worked until he was 81 years old. He was a member of the Lions Club of New Providence for over 30 years and volunteered his time to coach all three of his girls in softball through the New Providence Parks and Rec Department. Teddy loved the many Corvettes he owned over the years and was a huge NY Giants and NY Yankees fan! Teddy and Marilyn were members of Canoe Brook Country Club where he spent most of his time in his later years. He could frequently be found having lunch with friends or playing golf. He also enjoyed the familys annual vacation to Long Beach Island with all his children, sons in law and grandchildren.
Teddy is predeceased by his parents Luella and Theodore, his sister Beverly Walker, his son-in-law Paul Ramee and his wife, Marilyn who he adored immensely.
Visitation will be held at Bradley, Brough, and Dangler at 299 Morris Avenue, Summit, NJ on Saturday, 2/1/25 from 2-5pm. A private family dinner will be held afterwards in his honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Department of Veterans Affairs, or the Dementia Society of America.
